After a 3 hours Powernap I (Guillaume) took a bus with my camera stock all the way to Jerry Butler's place to meet Nicky Adams, Chris Haffey and of course Jerry. After some early editing and exporting stuff we had breakfast and then headed back to the Skatepark where everybody were already on fire. The Amateur level was much higher than previous year and I promise you'll be afraid by watching the next video edit. The Pro final is in 30 minutes and I'm sure it's gonna be wild. We can already see the Pro burning the skatepark's wood... see ya. - Guillaume Latrompette
We're always searching for articles to showcase the contributions that people are making for the rollerblading industry from the grassroots level. There are so many people offering so much to the industry who go unnoticed or do not get nearly as much attention as they deserve. These people are the ones responsible for spreading rollerblading to new generations and maintaining the involvement of those already participating while creating a strong network allowing the industry to be more than just a temporary flash in the “extreme sports” timeline. Here is the story of Botique Lylac, The Montreal Classic, Nimh VS Canadian Customs, The Taz Project, and Mathieu Ledoux...
As the Montreal scene seems to have taken about a decade or so off, things are starting back up again. Long gone are the days of Nicky Adams and Jon Bergeron sporting X-Games gold with huge corporate sponsorships at the ground zero of the evolution of rollerblading for a few years: Tazmahal Skatepark.
Haffey who just got back from Australia headed to Quebec for the Montreal Classic. Quoting Guillaume Latrompette from Montreal (the editor): "He skated that park like no one else before him, lacing tricks that has never been laced in that park! It was a pleasure to see him skating!". Check out this first Remz edit of the Montreal Classic madness. The edit not only features Chris Haffey, but also some other Remz rippers as well as an old school legend that obviously started skating again, the famous Nicky Adams! Edit by Guillaume Latrompette
Our Montreal correspondent Guillaume Latrompette just sent us the schedule information fof the next three days.
