Throughout the long Winter on the East Coast, the Tri-State area spends Thurday nights at Shields Skate Park in Flemington, NJ. Skaters from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut drive out for the blade only session every week. Ever since Vinny Minton release the 2011 Pre Bittercold Showdown edit, I had been inspired to create a tribute to his creativity.
Daniel Fabiano has become a household name in the rollerblading industry through years of dedication. From East to West, Daniel "Fabs" has gained his reputation not only as an Amatuer blader but also a young entrepreneur, owning his first clothing company at the age of fifteen. As the owner of Con.Artist Brand and the infamous Scribe Industries, Fabiano has earned a royal seat in rollerblading as one of the sports most dedicated brand owners! Enjoy the second installment of Scribefile as Fabs shreds through the East Coast since his move from Minnesota over a year ago.
New Jersey Blading was the result of multiple events that happened in the last 2 years of my life. To make a long story short, I was motivated to start blading again after not touching my skates in 8 years and through the process I felt it was necessary to unite bladers from all over New Jersey. Basically, after experiencing a large skate session in Jersey City, New Jersey in 2009 and seeing the LetsRollNY weekly sessions online, I truly felt New Jersey needed something like this on a regular basis.
On a rainy Tuesday night in April, I dropped my plans and headed south to skate a quick session with Franco Cammayo and Dominik Wagner at Shields Skatepark in Flemington, NJ. Dominik had spent several weeks of April in NYC to work on the second installment to his published photography book titled "Forever Now."
This year I attended the March madness 2011 at Shield Skatepark in Flemington, NJ where the only thing that came to mind was "Go big or go home". With every pressure of getting to the top and keeping your spot for the ultimate WRS this year, there was no lack of disappointments. Everyone from beginners to advance showed massive innovations that built this sports to where we are today.
Sam DeAngelis's photography has been popping up a lot lately. If you read online rolling media than you've seen his work shooting the NY and NJ scene. Want to know more about him? So did we, so we checked in, and Sam delivered this nice little interview along with some exclusive shots!
I woke up this morning to gray skies. Hit the snooze. Woke up an hour later to the same gray skies and prepared myself for the worst, an empty skate park and no hot dogs. But I packed my stuff anyway, and remembering how damn hot it was last year packed extra everything...
After hearing about the GnarBQ for years on end, I was lucky enough to finally attend one in person last weekend. Just from the anticipation flowing on the message board, I was sure this was going to be a good afternoon. I got scooped up thanks to Derek and Austin, and started the Jersey journey.
In this skatepark edit by Brent Scherer you can see what Franco Cammayo, Wake Shepman, and their friends did in only three sessions. The Schields Skatepark in Flemington, New Jersey, offers them a great winter location to go all out. Enjoy!
Went out on a Sunday sesh recently and had a nice turn out. We didn't really plan on putting anything together but we got a few clips. So instead of letting 'em sit there I threw this together right quick. -Osbel Velez
Eric Miller is a ninja turtle (Google this if you are clueless) who shows us that falling is not always just an option but rather an art form. Once you get past this you can see that he is just as clean in the air as he is shredding his frames.
Scribe Industries puts out a nice edit on a well known Jersey ledge. They did a great job of making a simple ledge edit interesting.

Over the past couple of years, the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) has lost too many indoor skate parks to count. From Hackettstown in New Jersey to the infamous Academy Skate Park in Connecticut; we have lost too many indoor parks due to lack of funding and support. We have endorsed endless hours of blading and hard earned cash to spend late sunday nights lacing tricks. Kids grow up in these parks and inevitably they have to watch the place they were raised in get torn down to the ground.
