Hi, my name is Erik Burrow and I am a 23 year old Canadian roller from Toronto. The following photographs are a documentation of an amazing year in skating. I have been extremely busy juggling college life, my girlfriend, and a job at Shop-Task. Somewhere in the mix I've found a way to make it all work.
Besides a few phone calls as of recent, Mathieu Ledoux was much the same to me as many of you out there. A fresh face, with mind boggling new maneuvers. One difference is I in fact had been following Mathieu's skating for a couple of years now. Not knowing anything of him personally. I viewed each section as a fan, and looked forward to the next.
With this One Minute One Spot edit we want to take the chance to introduce you to the person in charge of Shop Task (Skateshop in Canada): Leon Basin. The Israel native is not only good at pushing Rollerblading in Canada through his Rollerblade-Shop. He is more than that. Leon has been rollerblading more than half of his life and has been an inspiration in terms of Rollerblading for a lot of people that skate with him. Even though Leon is a pretty busy man since he also recently opened a Shop-Task store front in Downtown Vancouver he still found some time to film some extraordinary stuff for be-mag. Peep it!
I was enjoying some cold beers when I looked outside my basement window. The sun was shining, kids were playing, and I realized that I was loafing on one of the nicest days Calgary had seen in a while.
We were given the opportunity to watch this edit before it was released. Then we lost the password and couldn't watch it again. Bummer. Thankfully it's public now for everyone to see. Buffering.
Check out how Erik Burrow and Sylvain Chausee are destroying this sweet spot in the Toronto area. Sit back and enjoy Erik's and Sylvian's lines and hammers!

Sean: "This a collection of tricks I filmed while skating on my own in Calgary, Alberta. All these tricks except for one were filmed using a tripod and a Kodak Playsport camera. I didn't want the edit to be boring and stagnant, so I added mo...
Canadian Rollerblader and Be-Mag contributor Aj DeLong is also deep in the skiing world. We recently featured a skiboarding edit of AJ. This edit now got nominated for best Pro Edit of the year.
Recently we put up an exclusive story with Israel's native Leon Basin. He described his section by quoting a paragraph from Nietzsche: "You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist."
Danny Beer from Newfoundland Canada, shredding it up in cold weather.
Tommy's another under rated (internationally anyways) blader from Vancouver. Check out some old footage of him from Barn Burner. Tommy Chung at BarnBurner 2010 from Grom Squad Media on Vimeo.
It's great to see local coverage of rollerblading events. Here's a shot of the Sports section of the Kamloops newspaper. For more info check out Shop-Task with the full article.
The organization of the traditional Popularity Contest in Kamploops was taken over by Matt Vigneux in 2010. The contest was founded by Vancouver local Todd McInerney. It looks like Matt did a great job. Again a lot of people came out to shred on of Canada's biggest and best skateparks. Take a peek at the contest here.
Bramptom Comp 4 is a Canadian event that allows bladers to compete against one another for prizes, fame and glory. This year Brampton Comp has been enrolled in the World Rolling Series as a level 1 event, and the top 10 riders in Pro will receive WRS points
After the Pop Contest in Vancouver comes the VanAm, where amateur skaters can show what they've got. Hosted by Shop-Task at Fraser Heights Skatepark in Surrey, B.C.
