Ever since the first rolling videos hit the market in the early '90's, certain releases – such as 'The Hoax' and VG installments, or later published milestones like 'Coup de Tat' and 'Brain Fear Gone' – have changed not only the way people tend to look at and think about the specific scenes and rollerbladers portrayed, but also rolling culture itself. Even though I think it's too early to say what long term effect the release of GC.1 will have on the rolling world it undoubtedly has heightened my expectations regarding filming and video graphic techniques. Adding the extremely high production quality to the skills of one of the best teams in rollerblading yet, the math basically does itself. The Ground Control team video represents the passion and hard work Jon Elliott and his crew have put into their dream, resulting in one of the most spectacular videos to date.
Here is yet another Winterclash 2012 edit produced by Minimal Motions, a professional film and post-production team from Poland. In this edit you are able to experience the Clash from different perspectives and through high quality filming gear.
Are you as excited about the new Ground Control video as we are? You probably should be. For over a decade Ground Control have been leading the pack in frame design and have become a staple in the rollerblading community. There are only a few rollerblading competitions in Austria. The Rollinz is by far the biggest of them all and gives rollerbladers all over the country the opportunity to meet and of course to battle each other in the nicest skatepark Austria has to offer. Rollinz 2011 went down on the 5th of March this year and the event lived up to everyones expectations and beyond!
It has now been well over a year and a half of filming for the new Razor video, Game Theory. Over this time period we have literally traveled around the world with some of the best skaters on the planet making what I know will be an epic skate video. Love them or hate them the Razors team is composed of some of the hardest workers and the most unique individuals I’ve ever met, which is why I believe the team is so complete. Everyone has their own style, outlook on life, and a certain way they like to skate but when we all come together everyone is able to connect. What this does is allows everyone to learn from each other and obviously skate better. With the video deadline approaching everyone is anxiously anticipating the release of the video and even though the amount of tricks everyone needs has been met, the whole team is still motivated to go out and skate everyday in hopes of making their section even stronger. Personally, I’ve never spent so long filming for a video and I think that will be shown through the video with such a wide array of tricks, scenery, and style. I’m so happy to be part of this project and I think the video will be something that we can all be proud of.
The Razors International Pro Team including Brian Aragon, Chaz Sands, Stefan Horngacher and Edwin Wieringh visited the Rheinpark in Duisburg for the Meet and Greet session (organized and sponsored by Grindhouse) and even though it was a normal weekday incredibly many kids showed up to take a glimpse at their idols.
In Mallorca to get to see the best international skating we have always been used to having to move around and travel the closest to Barcelona. Our island is very appreciated by tourists from all around the world, because of its huge landscapes and incredible beaches; but us, the local skaters have never had the oportunity to see the big names skate our spots. With no doubt yesterday was a day none of us will forget. Just to see the faces of the youngest rollers observing their heroes that so many times the have seen in videos skating their plaza.
More and more edits are popping up and the people that have not been to the contest are starting to get an idea of the things that went down. Here is a compilation of Raw footage by Daniel Prell that gives you a good idea of the contest and the atmosphere at the Winterclash 2012. Enjoy...

Every frame has a story to tell. Every scratch is a letter, every chip a flare of creativity, every mark a test of endurance, every groove a path of accomplishment. Every ramp, every rail, every fall, every cheer, every journey. Every trick you land and every trick you don't, carved into a layer of plastic, concealed beneath our feet. Every frame has a story to tell. This is ours.
