It's not really hard to forget the first time that I met Sam, it must have been over ten years ago now at Chi park. I remember watching this little guy, barely pushing 4' 9", tearing up the park almost fearlessly in what I can only assume were his dad's clothes, with more enthusiasm than I had ever seen at that forsaken place.
On Saturday evening, a simple scarf helped Dominik Wagner throw down a hammer so big, Thor got jealous. Charging over and over at a safety barrier-handrail-quarter transfer was getting frustrating, until a CampHolland hooligan ran up. He threw the legendary Svenergy scarf around Dominik's neck and the result? A thousand shouting, partying rollerbladers and one of the gnarliest tricks of the day. The perfect moment for Sven Boekhorst's final Winterclash and a main highlight of the event.
Ned Espeut-Nickless brings us the freshest Winterclash 2013 edit so far, all the action, all the atmosphere and of course the best moments of the competition!

The junior contest is going down as you read this. Young kid Dominic Bruce from Scotland and Patrick Eagan (the young brother of Joey Eagan) did well in the park. We will be trying to get a few clips from both.
Sven Boekhorst made a bold move back in 2007 when he organized the first Mind The Gap. His new contest featured only a couple of ramps and one big gap, but it turned out to be a success. Skaters loved getting airborne and big crowds witnessed some great blading. Five years later the flying Dutchman and his friends have cruised countless miles around Europe with their ramps in tow. Sven has no intention of stopping any time soon, but he did take some time off his busy schedule to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his brainchild with us.
Today at the Korea Chuncheon World Leisure Cup Action Sport Championships the weather was HOT. The temperatures also got turned up a notch in the international inline park contest, where Sven Boekhorst, Worapoj Boonnim (Note), Brian Aragon, Yuto Goto and more battled it out for the top three spots.
Koreans, like the Japanese and pretty much most of Asia these days, love their technology. At any big event in Korea you will notice that a lot of people like to shoot and record pretty much anything with their cameras, whether their camera is a professional DSLR with a massive elongated lens, or just a simple smartphone.
There is always a sense of trepidation and apprehension when embarking on trips to foreign skate events. The language factor, the foreign food, the cultural differences, plus the fact that new experiences await after a few hours on a plane. This was definitely the case when we left Hong Kong on our midnight flight to Korea for the Korea 2012 Chuncheon World Leisure Cup Action Sports Championships (what a great simple name, yeah?).
Check out this video of team Rollerblade visiting Switzerland for a weekend. With footage from Basel, Zurich and Zug. Skating by Adrian Deck, Warren Digne, Jeremy Suarez, Timmy van Rixtel, Jan Ebbert, Sven Boekhorst and Guillaume Le Gentil! Edit by Mihai Bivol.
A group of friends found this cool skatepark in an old Roman Catholic church, called the Jozefkerk. In 2009 the local Skatepark in Arnhem, the Netherlands, burned down so the local skaters started looking for a new location which had to be at least 1000m2. After some research, they finally found this church which has been empty for the last five years. Blessed by the parish of St. Eusibeus they started building this unique skatepark. Now four years later the skatepark is well-known in the scene because of social media so some European riders/friends had the idea to visit the church with a smoke machine, cameras, cranes and extra lights. Check out their private session all under the eyes of god himself. -Sven Boekhorst

'Blackout' was filmed in only two days in an old building in which the new Den Bosch skatepark was being built. The unfinished skate obstacles in the park were used to incorporate the Mind the Gap setup and the 'Cityhopper' ramp to add trick possibilities. Other attributes used to create this video were glow in the dark paint, LED-lights, a smoke-machine, a motorcycle, industrial lighting and a bungee cord. Axel van Dijk and Remy Cadier present Sven Boekhorst in 'Blackout'.
Rollerblade presents you this compilation edit of footage their street team gathered throughout 2012.
The Dutch Championship took place in the World Skate Center skatepark in Den Bosch. Check out all the action in this edit.
