Using the empty space between my second and third wheel, I plant the groove on the edge of the step, and in one kick I'm out the driveway. Gliding on 223rd street, passing the students going to school, I give the bike lane a new name, the blade lane. I arrive at Chuck's house and we're on our way to the Wednesday morning blade ritual with genuine people that I am honored to still be blading with.
Zach Nelson and the crew from We Are One Skate Park went on the quintessential California Road trip this summer.
I’ve been wanting to skate New York City for 16 years. Since the Brooklyn Banks were closed for construction, there was only one thing I was after: skitching anything that moved during rush hour.
On August 17th, 2012 competitors and friends began to arrive in our fair city. Solid street clips were acquired. The evening overtook us and we hunkered down to feast and imbibe libations.
The third installment of Yinzer Blading wraps up both the YB trilogy and my time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For over seven years, I have been an honorary Yinzer, and this online project is my parting gift to those who explored the city with me. Exploring Pittsburgh is what this video is really about. Our crew has seen more of the City of Pittsburgh than most people who have lived there since birth.
Stay In-Line Comp - This is our first event put together under the flag of S.I.L. Productions. A brand that I created three years ago as a way for people to see rollerblading through our eyes and through our friends. We hope to continue to have numerous events through out the year to bring the rolling community together and hopefully spark a fire in the younger generation to continue taking our sport to the level it should be.
Eulogy has been pouring wheels for well over a decade now so they've seen the high times and the low times of skating. We spent a few minutes checking in with Isaac talking about the team, big wheels and skater owned businesses.
Justin Brasco and myself have spent several weekends in New York this summer filming for his next online street section. We got washed out one day and decided to headed to Oil City Skate Park in Long Island, NY to wind down on the facilities' new shotgun ledges. Days earlier, Brasco picked up a sponsor with Create Originals and was eager to see what all the talk was about. Enjoy this One Minute One Spot as Justin Brasco tries in his new Create Original frames and puts his name down on Oil City Skate Park's shotgun ledges.
Growing up in the armpit of California can be pretty difficult for a blader, flat land, flat architecture, flat blade spots. Having and thriving on these difficulties has definitely shaped Derek to the blader he is. A hard finesse/precise/inventive/fuck-you style should sum up his blading, I might be missing some other distinct points but it's ok, you can come up with whatever you want, he won't give a shit. In this self conscious, trend following world, I feel that blading needs a kid like Derek. Call it man-blading, call it thrash-blading, call it whatever you want, Derek definitely has what people need. Give this a read and discover another side to a dude I'm honored to be friends with: Derek Henderson.
Joey Chase. An immortal sent to destroy “man’s” concrete jungles with his “Blades” of fury? Or, a mortal without the burden of pain, touched with enough talent and persistence to raise him to the highest level of “Awesomeness”? Or, is this his cocoon phase, as he patiently waits to blossom in to a seven foot tall, four armed bartender, destined to run “Murder Face Chase, The Drinking Place”? Or maybe, just maybe, Joey Chase is as simple as the stick figure man on the door of public men’s restrooms. None of these are known to be the truth and his legends are not for me to say.

Our fellow Be-Mag colleague and writer Dave Bloom, who also rides for the Revel8 AM Team, just released another episode of The Junk Show. Episode 2.5 takes you back to California for some good times, in the snow, on skiboards. Unfortunately Dave took a bad fall and is put out for six weeks. We wish him all the best and hope he gets better soon! In the mean time, sit back, grab something to drink, eat, or smoke, whatever you like, and enjoy this sweet episode!
