This past week we were given the opportunity to go to Woodward West and have an official Razors Week in the mountains of Tehachapi, California. During the week Dre Powell, Julian Bah, Rachard Johnson, Erik Rodriguez and myself were all able to be in attendance. For many years the name “Woodward” has been associated with great skate parks and a summer destination for extreme athlete enthusiasts. Growing up I never had the opportunity to experience the camp aspect of Woodward, it was not until I turned pro that I was able to visit the facility and enjoy everything they had to offer.
In between filming for Picture Me Rolling and working two jobs, Erik Foster Burrow managed to pump out some high-quality clips for this short edit. We only went out filming for a short time on three separate occasions and in one night, accompanied each with a six-pack of Old Mill, threw together this little edit. Erik is the real deal. Bar none, he is the most dedicated rollerblader I know, he loves that shit.
A few weeks ago word got out on the internet that Camp Woodward was planning a substitute over in Europe. This info wasn't meant to be released to the general public at this point in time and the information disappeared as quickly as it had emerged. This resulted in a huge confusion amongst extreme sports enthusiasts of all flavors all over Europe, if not the world. Will there be a Woodward in Europe in the near future? Where will it be? And most importantly: when will it open its doors? Read this interview with Hans Geiger, the person that instigated it all. Get ready to get the lowdown about the current state of Camp Woodward Europe. Exlusively on Be-Mag.
When we started the One Minute One Spot format on be-mag, we knew Franky would like that kind of format. We had no idea that Franky would provide a hammer edit like the one here - especially in the face of the fact Franky got injured right before filming for the edit. But this is Franky, one of the most popular icons of our sport's culture. Nothing can stop him to throw down his hammers.
It seems that Vert gets less coverage nowadays. So we checked in with Thumper Nagasako to get his perspective and see what's up with him and Highrollaz!
So another Con.Artist tour is upon us, and this time it's to the glorious state of Colorado. Even between full-time jobs, girlfriends, and school we were still able to pull a good crew for this tour.
For Be-Mag’s second feature of the summer on Camp Woodward, we had the opportunity to sit down with camp visiting pro and inline director, Mike Bennett. Mike has probably spent more time at Woodward than any other rollerblader, having nearly completed his 8th full summer at camp. Mike first came to camp while touring with his old skate sponsor, K2...
From now until the end of the summer Be-mag will bring you regular features on Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania. These features are intended to keep those who have been to Woodward informed on what’s going on, and let those who might want to come know what Woodward is all about.
Be-Mag is happy to support Camp Woodward and all the skaters attending the camps there. We decided to host a weekly Ledge contest there and the winner then receives a year subscription for Be-Mag. Congratulations to the first winner!
This year-end event is going to be an event that you do not want to miss! After 4 very successful events, we will conclude this year with a championships contest and award banquet.
Took a trip up to Woodward a couple weeks ago in an attempt to out run the rain. Fun ass weekend! -Chris Dafick
Brian Arnold and I headed up to Woodward east this summer. We had planned to have fellow USD Team riders Tim Phang and Jeff Dalnas meet us there but at last minute they both weren't able to make it..We hope to get back to Woodward and make the full USD edit we had hoped for sometime soon. We still had a great time skating with the campers, Woodward staff and the Fuel Tv crew who are mostly bladers in case you didn't know.. -Nick Pisciotta
The Junk Show is back! In the first episode of their second season, the Junk Show will take you from beautiful Loveland Pass to Vail owned resorts Keystone and the legendary A-Basin. With tons of snow to shred, the lime green features at A-Basin, and the jib-plentiful opening weekend park of Keystone, you know that you've got some entertainment on your hands. And, if that wasn't enough, these snollerbladers to get back to their roots and hold a ledge sesh indoors at the Woordward Skatepark in Copper, CO. Package this all and blow it up right from the start with a little end-of-summer montage and you got yourself some stoke to get the adrenaline pumping for that upcoming session today. Who knows, you may even want to try out some skiboards this year, too. But, just remember that Hollywood prefers to call them snollerbladers. Maybe because he's a skate OG, or because it really annoys people on the slopes. Either way, peep this banger and hang tight for more to come including a guest appearance from Nils Jansons, Franco Cammayo, and the skiboarding legend himself, Nicky Adams. Enjoy!
If we had facilities like this we would all be doing this kind of stuff, right?! Check out Takeshi ripping up the big transitions at Woodward Beijing for SamuraiTV. Edit by Lei Filmworks.
Its been a while since you have seen these dudes skate! Its the real Og's back in action. Even thou in this case you could the say the real Oj's. Jose Disla, Jon Ortiz, Joe Dedentro and Alex Nunez are ripping up Woodward in this edit brought to you by Harry Disla. Enjoy...
No question, Dave Lang has become a name that pops up quite often recently. Here we just received another visual banger from him. Even though he suffered from a knee injury, he is not afraid to lace this ass-kicking spins over Woodward's flybox during his first session after his injury. Check it out.
Fun with friends at Woodward West. Skating by Alex Miranda, Becci Wallace, Viktor Galicia and others.
With Brian Aragon and Julian Bah recently moving to Cali, they are able to hit up one of the best skateparks on the west coast, Woodward West. Filmed and edited by Phillip Long.
Dave Lang just send us this sweet visual enlightment! Epic work.
Dave Lang introduces a new edit series called 'In The Light.' and Brian Aragon was the first one that is featured in this. Peep it!
The Amateur Inline League will be hosting the first of its 2010 seasons contest at Woodward West. More infomation around the Inline League is available here. Also make sure to check out the facility of Woodward West here.
