It's a real pleasure for me to introduce the "One Minute One Spot" for my friend Nicolas Schopfer! I've known Nic for more than a decade now. I remember him skating back in the days when he was a 1,20 m tall kid skating in his blue Salomons and with his huge helmet – hence his nickname "Mushroom". From then on he never stopped skating, kept improving, always striving for perfection. He's now the great and stylish skater we all know! Thankfully Nic is always motivated for a little session. I'd say even more so now that he started editing etc. He's the one who brought me back into skating when we went to Malta after a few years break and I'm really grateful to him for everything!
Sometimes the best ideas are the ones that hit you spontaneously: In just 3 weeks Jon Julio and crew set up their game plan for 'The Blading Cup' which will take place at the beginning of August in Santa Ana, USA. Ryan Loewy hit up Jon to give you a quick overview of what to expect. The line-up for the comp already reads impressive and the guys managed to plant this event right into the busy festivities that will go down the same weekend in downtown Santa Ana.
I just got home from a month long trip to Barcelona/China filming for the upcoming Xsjado video. I was not even home for a week then JC asked me if I wanted to go to Columbia. I didn't really want to go at first but after a couple days of thinking it over I decided to go. Here are some of my most recent photos that I took. Don (Bambrick) and I were sent out there to judge a contest and hang with the kids. So here is a look at what Columbia has to offer!
Aarin Gates loves to blade and smile. It's infectious. She'll make the whole crew smile without saying a word. She has great energy, and continues to stomp out every trick with passion and style. I've been blading for 18+ years and can honestly say that I have never seen a female with the strength and style that Aarin possesses. This summer Dmitriy Gaar from Moscow, Russia, had a six month long tour to China, where he had been making shows at the local skatepark and having a really good time. This edit was shot in Beijing by Catherine Rovner and Daria Gaar, and edited by Catherine Rovner after Luke got back home. Dmitriy Gaar skates for Rollerclub Skateshop and reps Xsjado skates to the fullest!

Trouble is a project from a couple of friends who are doing amazing things in their respective industry but, will remain bladers for life. Joel Buenavista, a freelance filmer in the States, is the eye behind the camera. Chuck Cauton is a freelance tattoo artist who is currently working with Robert Lievanos, and being put onto the Jug shoes roster. Matt Florentino is the final rider who is a part of this edited project. Check out the teaser for your first images of this movie and you will see this is going to be sick.

I just received the newly released Xsjado JC Rowe 1.0's, and spent my last 2 days in Barcelona skating to test their performance. You have all seen or at least heard of the SANTEE crew, so now come out and experience the Santee street competition. It is going to be a day of sick competition. Nick Wood has has some fun side competitions with in the main competition to get thing even more wild. 1st place will win a minimum of $500 but more than likely it will be more than that. So make sure you get out to San Diego on the 21st for what is going to be a very memorable event.
