JUG XL Backpack Review by Jeremy Townsend

If you haven't noticed backpacks are a dime a dozen. Doesn't matter what you do or why you need the bag but somewhere someplace there is a bag for you! A company familiar with the demanding needs of today's rollerblader is none other than JUG.

Jeremy Townsend testing the new Blank Liners

Jeremy Townsend recently asked us if we were interested in hearing his opinion on the new Blank liners he just started using. Knowing how fussy Jeremy is about gear we said "Yes." Couple weeks later he hits us back up after he's completed the testing and here's what he came up with. If you're dead set on your pair of "XY brand" liners this might change after you've watched the edit.

A Sunday with Jeremy Townsend

Jeremy picked me up mid day and we decided to cruise downtown Seattle to find spots that were brand new or looked upon in the past. Because parking in downtown is extremely competitive we had to park in a hidden lot in between some abandoned buildings. Taking the risk of getting a citation we decided it was more important to strap on the blades and not waste anymore day light.

Kaltik Flat Frames Test by Jeremy Townsend

For the last few months now I’ve been pleasuring myself – or should I say Kaltik’s new flat frame has been pleasuring me? Either way it doesn’t quite sound right! The truth is I’ve been skating this revolutionary frame and they’re surprisingly amazing! Amazing I tell you!

J.Townsend Ford Escort Session

Remember the classic Mindgame Dustin Latimer car grinding session? Well seems that it was an inspiration also for Jeremy Townsend. He was convinced to skate his co-workers Ford Escort. Check out this session.

Psyko’s way to the Last Man Standing (part 2)

I left San Diego for Seattle one week ago and It seems like a month. Now I'm here in New York city. I would first like to give a shout out to Seattle. The 10th SBS (Street Battle Seattle) was as wild as I hoped. Big ups to Jeremy Townsend for a great contest and My Remz flow brothers Sean Cowen, Nacho, Kawika, and Josia Blee for hitting it hard to help me make an edit that will be up this week, so look for that. But now I'm in the belly of the beast.

Company Profile: Skate Crazy Skate Shop

Seattles scene has been very unfortunate with the shutdown of Skatebarn last year. Recently, things are starting to look a lot better with the opening of a new shop in the area, ran by Stacy Schlutsmeyer. Check out this Company Profile of Skate Crazy Skate Shop out of Seattle, Washington!

Competition Report: Beat the Chump 4

If there is one thing I’m starting to realize in rollerblading, it’s that thirty is quickly becoming the new twenty. Last weekend in Bellevue, Washington, rollerbladers from all around the northwest US and southwest CA came out for the fourth installment of the Beat the Chump 4 contest, the Seattle-area park competition with a unique run-based format. Skaters take turns doing lines through the compact park until they stop, or fall. It’s a nice break from the common Jam Session format, which often proves dangerous in Bellevue Indoor.

Contest Report: TacTown Takeover 2011

What can I say about a contest with little to no competition? I mean there were competitors, just no competition battling for the 1st! Hands down after the second round we knew who was going to win this event. The 'TacTown Takeover', part of the NWBack2Back Series and little brother to 'Street Battle Seattle', took place on August 27th 2011 in the city of Tacoma.

Nicky Adams: One Minute One Spot

Here is few clips of Mr. Nicky Adams. We filmed in Montreal at SouthParc (skatepark of the Montreal classic WRS competition) last week in order to offer you this short video edit. Nicky was in the Salomon Pro Team back in the day and he won the X-games in 1999. He had few exposure these last years but he never left rollerblading. He is one of the most professional skaters I ever skated and filmed with. He laces his tricks first try most of the time and always does it with the biggest smile and swag ever.

Barn Burner 2011 Contest Report & Official Edit

At first, frustration sets in hearing once again the late announcements of this year’s Barn Burner; thinking to myself “Great no one will show”! With an epic history filled with the biggest names followed by tricks for the books the Barn Burner needs no introduction. Although after last years contest the idea of this year had everyone questioning.

Akright Apparel

A new Rollerblading company from Seattle was launched by local skater Michol Franklin. Have a look at their website. We are looking forward to their 2011 push.

StreetBattleSeattle 2010 report

It couldn’t have ended any sweeter. The 10th and final SBS was by far in my eyes the most powerful, for not only me but everyone in attendance. The level of skating was unreal. With close to 40 competitors it was a tough contest to judge. The hype was there all day with great skating, no busts, and with 4 megaphones there was never a dull moment.
