Real Street Amsterdam 2013 – Back in the game

After several months of preparation, the Real Street Amsterdam went down on the 31st of August. With riders from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium and the United Kingdom the turn up was great, and so was the level. After a warm-up session at one of the newest curbs in the city, the group of over 70 bladers moved on to the nearby flatrail to continue the session.... Read More...

Competition Report: X-Mas Jam 2012, German Championships Inline Street

After the madness of the Shred Cologne contest just two months earlier, the final German Masterships session of the year had a lot to live up to. The frozen streets and horrible weather weren’t putting anybody off, with bladers from almost all of Europe showing up to destroy the I-Punkt Skateland for the 2000 € prize money. German competitors were also battling for the title of German Champion for 2012 and the standard was – predictably – furious. ... Read More...

Scandinavian Real Street Championships 2011 Contest Report

We had a good hour of session, and the sign-ins of skaters in the competition was finally over. The new spot at the SEB buildings was just as we expected it to be: great for rollerblading. The surface made of smooth concrete turning and tossing like a river down a lazy sloped hill, with the occasional curb to skate and a big two meter gap in the ending made it a rollerblading fantasy. ... NYC Street Invite 2011: Second Official Be-Mag Edit by Sam DeAngelis

"There is a rollerblading festival going on under the highway bridge here in Brooklyn" I heard someone saying when we entered the venue. "People jumping over cars, grinding on a truck – you have to see this, it's crazy". Yeah the New York City Street Invite 2011 was an unique experience for everyone involved. Billy O'Neill and Daniel Kinney (founder and organizer of BCSD) don't talk much – they are doers and do things the right and professional way. I guess people recognize this and that's why the NYC Street Invite gathered bladers from all over the world to battle it out on some real street one-of-a-kind obstacles especially created and set-up for this contest. So Billy and Daniel did not only take care of the obstacles for the contest, they also made sure that they've had all permissions and insurances needed for the contest. We at Be-Mag also felt that this contest was going to be a big deal, so we decided to send a team to New York to cover the event properly. But good things take time. ... Read More...
