“Summer In The Zoo” – Brian Weis & Mikey Blair

"Summer In The Zoo" is a video (filmed by Ryan Grau, with help from other contributing filmer's, who will be listed in the credits) made from all of the clips captured last summer, and some of this summer. This video features profiles on Chris Couture, Markus Graham, Nate VonDeak, Chase Maser, Ryan Grau, and a shared section featuring Brian Weis & Mikey Blair which you can view below. This will be a online movie, with one section put up a week. After that will come the intro, and credits / bloopers & falls. Also a montage will be put up somewhere in the middle, with a lot of Michigan Bladers, skating KZoo, and wherever else. Ryan will also be putting this on DVD if anyone is interested.

Up and Comers: Jon Fromm

Most of you probably already know Jon Fromm, or at least think you do. He shows up at competitions all over, comes out to the local blade events and always seems to have a new edit on Vimeo, forcing you to rewind and ask yourself what just happened. But if I had to share something about Jon that most people wouldn't know it would be his work ethic. Skating is the perfect microcosm of his life. To the untrained eye when watching Jon warm up with hurricane topsouls first try and switchups that leave you amazed the first thing people think is "I wish it was that easy for me" or at least thats what I was guilty of.

Competition Report: A Day In The Mitten 2011

Last years write up of the comp was done by Brian Weis while sitting in an E.R. waiting room after destroying his leg tying a huge transfer off a Kinker. So I thought it only fit that I'm writing this years comp report as I sit in the E.R. waiting room with a broken hand.

Brian Weis: One Minute One Spot

This spot is a old school spot in Kalamazoo, MI. Since it hasn't been skated in a while, maintenance on the spot has been very minimal. This meant tons of cracks, a couple over grown bushes, and some bees nest. The bees were chasing Brian after every trick on the first out ledge, and the bush wasn't very forgiving either, but it was still a fun session. Thats how Brian is, loves to have Blade and have fun. He's also a pretty sarcastic, quick witted guy. Any late night chillin with the homies can turn into improve stand up. He'll have ya laughing till you can't breathe, and have to run out of the room to save your own life. The dudes cool to kick it with, and tons of fun to session with. Check it out...
