MY WINTERCLASH | ZACK POLLAK

The Winterclash competition has been the premiere blading event for several years running now, drawing competitors and spectators from all over the world to Area 51 skatepark in Eindhoven Netherlands. We aim to highlight some of these individual adventures that brought so many incredible characters into one location to share in our common passion of inline skating.

This time around we have highlighted Florida shredder & Roces rider Zack Pollak, who attended his very first Winterclash this year. Zack gives us his perspective of his wild adventures in Eindhoven and what made the Clash special to him.

Can you explain your first Winterclash experience?

It’s hard to put the feeling into words. Refreshing, overwhelming, high energy, gratifying.

What made Winterclash different than other skating events you’ve been to?

The amount of people, pros, and industry heads. The level of skating. The formality/structure. Everything runs on time and is done properly while also feeling like a party with no rules.

Can you tell us why you made it a point to attend the Clash this year & why it is so special to you?

It’s the biggest meeting ground for the community. I got to see friends that I haven’t seen in years and made new friends that I’ll probably have for life.

Explain your favorite memories from this year’s event?

The feeling/nerves I got when I was about to compete, I’d never skated in front of so many people before. Also just meeting/hanging with all the Roces people, they were so friendly and fun to be around.

Who was your favorite skater to watch during the event?

Nils kills. It also felt so rejuvenating to see Billy O’Neill skating.
