Having trouble heat molding Seba SX

I'm a size 11, but I got some size 10 SX boots with the intention to heat mold the toe. Trouble is it seems like the boot wont budge at all, and not just at the toes. I've put them in the oven at 195 for 20 minutes twice now, and they remain stuff as every when I lace them up and press on the toe box. I'm using a gas oven which I've hear may be the problem....though that doesn't make much sense to me. Heat is heat, no?

I think with using gas it's harder to get the right temp.

When I heatmolded my Sebas in the past I accidentally put the temp much higher, but yielded an awesome result.

Had the same issues with the toe area too.

Ok fuck. I guess I’ll say a prayer and try 220 degrees.

Do you recall what you set the temp to?

It was some time ago and I do not. But I would say it was around the 200-250 mark.

One thing that i noticed is the glue loosened up on the "skin" (easy fix).

After that the flex was beautiful and fit much better. I just hated the feel of the carbon on my feet vs. a plastic shell.

On a semi-unrelated note. I really hope they release an all-white boot this year. We've had 2 black CJs, a grey and black CJ, a white/black CJ that I'm not feelin and then the all black SX boots.

Fuck, 220 didn't really do anything either. I'm worried if I use the oven any more I'll simply be degrading the soft materials of the skate. I'll try a heat gun on the toe this weekend.

And yeah, color schemes have been pretty uninspired. The greens and the whites are pretty wack if you ask me.

The greens were hideous and not needed whatsoever. I'm sick of the print.

Give me an all white boot & an all black. Maybe grey and white? idk. Keep it simple. it's not hard.
