Donate & Skate Competition Report

The first ever Donate and Skate charitable rollerblading event took place in Cedar Park, Texas on April 16th 2011. The goal of the contest was to provide rollerblades to those interested in the sport, but who might not have the funds readily available to buy brand new skates. Instead of a contest entry fee, competitors donated used skates, wheels or frames. Then, during the contest, the nice staff of Rec N Roll Skateshop helped match up the pieces and assembled skates for those in need. It was great seeing so many kids excited about picking out their own parts and trying on their new skates. A few brave kids even tried rolling the skatepark for their first time – it was a beautiful sight! ... Read More...

Perception by Zebastian Cassel (Intro)

Perception was my first big video project. I had done videos before but mainly for my buds or the local kids. This time i wanted to go for something bigger! The word "perception" was perfect for the title as it was supposed to show how i see swedish rollerblading and which swedish rollerbladers i enjoy watching. I had the pleasure of filming with guys like Fredrik Andersson (USD sweden) and Joachim Wall (RAZORS sweden) which helped me out alot when i wanted to raise the level of skating as they both are ridicoulously good! Just check out their sections and you´ll see. Christofer Kohn (Sweden), Kayd Anderson (Australia) and myself also have sections. The montages feature rollerbladers from pretty much everywhere including the guys from hedonskate and a lot of american rollerbladers. The filming took about a year and a half plus a few months of editing. But it was all worth it in the end! I´m overall really proud of the turnout and alot of people showed up for the releaseparty a few months ago. I hope that in the future I´ll be able to involve the perception family in new video projects aswell as adding a few more guys to the ranks. I wish to thank everyone who had anything to do with my project and bought the video which helped me raise money for my new camera. Rollerblading is all about perspective and this is mine. Enjoy! - Zebastian Cassel... Read More...

Piotrek Combrznski Interview + Exclusive “Sky Is The Limit” Preview

There are few bladers from Poland that are known internationally – Piotrek Combrzynski is one of them. Super humble and quiet as a person yet a beast as a rollerblader. As a teenager he polished his skills at many skateparks in Europe just to bring them to the street now and amaze us with his solid style, confidence and consistency. Piotrek is one of those people who makes session really fun and amusing, he will always come to you after you land anything and give you props! After a long brake in 2010 caused by the collar injury, Piotrek made a smooth come back with his Bristol edit (made by Canislatrans) and now, thanks to Be-mag, you will have a chance to get more insight into Piotrek's past, present and future! ... Checking In with Robbie Pitts

If you asked me 4 months ago if Robbie Pitts would have a section in ‘Seven Rats’, I would have been hesitant in saying yes. We had submitted all of the footage I filmed of him in the past year for ‘Valo 4 Life’, and I didn’t have a single clip of him left for ‘Seven Rats’. When he returned from America, I filmed Robbie almost everyday for 3 months, and his persistence, and belief in the project carried him through to the end, delivering an amazing video section. He truly has put a lot of effort into getting his section done, from filming arbitrarily after work/university, to sitting in on the long editing process. His section was the first that I finished editing, wrapping it up within 5 hours of getting his final trick on camera. Working with Robbie was a great experience; his outlook on rollerblading is something that will always stay with me. Thanks for all the great memories Robbie! ... Read More...

Exclusive: Giorgio Oehlers Interview by Dominic Swagemakers

I know Giorgio for quite a long time now. In all those times we experienced some perfect skate sessions, road trips, vacations and parties. He is a good filmer and editor and also produces his own music. Everything in the Rollerdam online rollerblading videos was done by the man himself! Lately he has been doing quite well with his music. It's really nice to see all the time and effort he put in now starts to pay off. Giorgio skates the same as the relaxed vibes from his beats – relaxed and with much ease. It's always nice to see him rollerblade. Take some time to read the interview and see that, after more than 10 years in the game, Giorgio still loves rollerblading and everything that comes with it! ... Read More...

Blast from the Past: Matteo Attanasio

I can’t really remember how long we know each other... But at the time we first met, Matteo was the only German skater with good style. Sorry, that's how it was. He has always been a soul skater. And a playboy on wheels. He wanted to end his pro career at a very young age to skate just for the fun of it. He wanted to have sessions and to travel without any obligations to skate at a contest. Crazy ass dreamer, you say? But guess what: that is what he did! And until now he remains as the first of a complete generation of soul skaters I have met. He is now working on putting this into picture.... Read More...

Report: First Annual „Too Cold To Blade Outside“ Competition

Going into this I knew that it was going to be hectic. For years I have been hosting local shows and helping promote parties so as putting it all together and making people want to come would not be a problem. Adrià Saa „Mineroh“ Interview

Everyone who knows Mineroh, knows that his skating is raw. The spot finder, a guy who was born for moving in the streets, takes Rollerblading as his life and passion. Mineroh is the best friend, he is loyal and he doesn't give up on anything. He can be fucked up in his life and he'll still come to blade or film with a smile on his face. This is Adrià Saa, a guy who lives to blade and to represent everyone that supports him so hard. If you come to Barcelona you will probably get to know him, because BCN streets are a jungle and he knows how to cross it on his blades.... Read More...

Mathieu Ledoux – Exclusive Interview

Besides a few phone calls as of recent, Mathieu Ledoux was much the same to me as many of you out there. A fresh face, with mind boggling new maneuvers. One difference is I in fact had been following Mathieu's skating for a couple of years now. Not knowing anything of him personally. I viewed each section as a fan, and looked forward to the next.... Interview with Miguel Ramos

Miguel is one of the most incredible people I know. His heart is as big as the universe. As good as it gets! His skating has been incredibly good since I can remember. Miguel have been skating for 17 years without stopping! One of the few. He has done so much for the blading community in Puerto Rico, that I dont even know how to be grateful but to tell you that he is one of the best bladers out there that can make a difference in the world. Good people like him is hard to find. If there aren't people like him I dont think there would be a skating scene in Puerto Rico. For years he has been the organizer of multiple events and competitions that keep the blading community in PR united and motivated to keep on rolling. If someone in Puerto Rico needs to be recognize in the blading community, definitely, has to be Miguel Ramos. ... Read More...

Who the heck is Mike David?

Mike David has always been raw talent. His skating has always been on the next level, and his presence is always positive. The first time I met Mike was back in the TSB days in Toronto, when he tried a massive disaster soul. I thought he was just some crazy guy trying to make a name for himself, but after a while I realized that this guy throws down every time he skates. Pure hammers, and best attitude around. Everyone knows how humble he is, and no one questions his skill. Presenting Mike D everyone.... Read More...
