One Minute, One Spot: Levi van Rijn

Sometimes big things come in small packages. At only 15, Levi's skating career is off to an impressive start. It's not hard to find one minute of Levi skating. Finding one spot to keep his attention is the difficult part - always looking for more challenging obstacles. Levi's love for blading is contagious. It's easy to witness how much fun he has blading by watching any of his edits. This is only the beginning. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Levi and his never ending progression. - Jeff Crays

Shred Cologne 2013: An Interview with Event Organizer Marco Sichau

A little over two weeks from now, the highly anticipated Shred Cologne 2013 will go down at the Abenteuerhalle Köln Kalk in Cologne, Germany. While the hot phase of the preparations has just started for the Shred Team and the riders list is ever growing, we asked Be-Mag correspondent Seán Ó Dálaigh to find out what the competition will be all about this year!

Competition Report: Laced Comp 2013

“It’s alright, just my fingers innit!” That statement came from Jake Ricketts, after falling far and fast to the concrete, breaking two fingers and going back to nail the trick and the AM first place. It pretty much sums up the badassery that rollerblading in general and the UK scene in particular is so proud of, and it was on full display at Laced weekend.

German competitors were also battling for the title of German Champion for 2012 and the standard was – predictably – furious.

The Blading Cup: a View from Under the Ramps

Ivan Narez, Erik Stokley, and I arrived at Jon and Viola Julio’s loft around 4:30 Thursday morning. Ivan slept most of the way in pure exhaustion from finalizing the details on getting copies of the Shred ‘Til You’re Dead II book, DVD, and Blu Ray that were releasing the next day. By that time, I had been awake nearly 24 hours and about five of those were driving from Walnut Creek to Santa Ana.

Competition Report: Baltic Games 2012

Baltic Games – the fifth edition of the biggest extreme sports festival in Poland. It is a huge venture with a gigantic skatepark on an international level, plenty of invited guests, and bunch of different attractions for visitors. At the same time it is another great opportunity to show blading to outsiders in a good light. What can be said about the BG 2012?
