Competition Report: Laced Comp 2013

“It’s alright, just my fingers innit!” That statement came from Jake Ricketts, after falling far and fast to the concrete, breaking two fingers and going back to nail the trick and the AM first place. It pretty much sums up the badassery that rollerblading in general and the UK scene in particular is so proud of, and it was on full display at Laced weekend.... Read More...

Competition Report: X-Mas Jam 2012, German Championships Inline Street

The frozen streets and horrible weather weren’t putting anybody off, with bladers from almost all of Europe showing up to destroy the I-Punkt Skateland for the 2000 € prize money. German competitors were also battling for the title of German Champion for 2012 and the standard was – predictably – furious. ... Read More...

By that time, I had been awake nearly 24 hours and about five of those were driving from Walnut Creek to Santa Ana. ... Read More...

Ben Harmanus: About Chimera, Adapt and More Projects

If you've never met Ben Harmanus before, from the outset he can seem a little bit scary. A man covered in tattoos who's always dressed in black and constantly throwing himself at rails all over the globe. For those who do know him, they realize this is simply a front for one of the most caring and passionate skaters in our scene. Ben spoke with Be-mag to discuss the current state of Chimera, his collaboration with the dutch boot company Adapt and the future and beyond of skating.... Read More...

'Lost Transmissions': A Video by James Sharp

Over the past 18 months or so I've been filming a fair few things, which I had initially hoped to use in some sort of project of my own. But after donating a few to various people to use online, and losing around 40% of what I had when my hard drive blew up, I decided it was probably time to make a little something before the footage was too dated. -James Sharp...
