Hedonskate Tour 2012 Update #3: The Last Days of the Tour

The last update ended with us fixing our car and leaving Kaunas for next stop Palanga, which was only a one hour drive. We arrived in the early evening for a session at the local park with local bladers. We gave away some free Hedonskate stuff again and just had a fun session there. The weather was pretty cold and dark despite it supposed to be summer, but we didn't care.... Read More...

Taryf's 'TIME': A Review by Freddy White

A couple of weeks ago we were sent a DVD with the sounding name 'TIME'. Return address was somewhere in France. Unprejudiced as we truly are we popped the video in and... were really impressed. 'TIME' is not only put together really well, it also showcases French blading in a way that got us juiced for more. We recommend this DVD to anyone, but especially to the folks out there that rely on the mistaken interpretation that the French are all about spin to win.... Read More...

Json Adriani: One Minute One Spot

I've known Json for a decade now and the first word that comes to mind when thinking about him is 'dedication'. And the second one is 'leader', no doubt. During the past years Jason used to skate no-fun-at-all-super-high-dead-drop-rails on a daily basis with a to-do list of tricks to improve his skills. This meant that he was skating alone most of the time because nobody in his city and just a few in Italy would be able to skate the same spots. Today, Json has grown to the best all around blader that Italy has to offer and his attitude makes him a role model for the young and a great asset to the Italian scene. He is always the first to put his blades on and the last to put them off. His dedication is contagious. ... Read More...

Brian Moore on ‘The City Never Sleeps’ + Trailers & Brady Johnston Profile

Brian Moore is about to release his new DVD 'The City Never Sleeps'. After more than two years of filming for the video and a $10,000 investment Brian has finally come to an end! Watching the teasers and considering the positive feedback the film got after its premiere at the Hoedown Contest in Dallas you can be sure that this release will get your ass up from the sofa and strap on your skates. Although Brian said that he did this video mostly for himself, we think that this video is made for everyone. But decide for yourself: an in depth interview, two trailers and Brady Johnston's section from the video should provide a good basis for your decision on whether or not to get the flick! All of this after the jump… ... Read More...

Competition Report: 15th Annual Hoedown

So, this is it? The 15th and final Showdown at the Hoedown, or at least at the current location. It's been a great ride, and I agree it may be time to move on. I've managed to attend all but the first Hoedown, and every year I am impressed by not only the level of skating, but the level of community this event brings. It might start with the fact that Eisenberg's Skatepark is a family run park and Miss Vicky, Arlo's mom, is in attendance cheering on the skaters with the rest of us. Whatever it is I want to personally thank everyone who has ever been to a Hoedown be it to skate, watch, or just get drunk in the parking lot – we call it tailgating in Texas – it's been a lot of fun....
