Jeremy Spira Interview + Exclusive Edit

Since we've known Spira, we have watched him evolve as a person. I first met him in Texas at the Hoedown, we were instantly drawn to his style and the way he carried himself. We wanted him to ride for Revolution. Next, we had our first Rev. Alaska trip, Spira was borderline out of control crazy. Our final night in AK, Nick Wood had Spira in a headlock on the way home from the bar trying to keep him under control. When you have someone like Nick acting as the moderator, you know the situation is wild. Then, he met his wife Sessy. She was the best thing to happen to him. She got his life back on track, and he regained his focus to follow his passion to skate again. Then, he and Sessy had their lovely baby Arden. Spira learned what is most important in life, and his priorities changed. Now, he is balanced. He has Arden, his wife Sessy, and skating. Everyday he tries to be the best father, husband, and skater he can be. That is all that matters. ... Read More...

Donate & Skate Competition Report

The first ever Donate and Skate charitable rollerblading event took place in Cedar Park, Texas on April 16th 2011. The goal of the contest was to provide rollerblades to those interested in the sport, but who might not have the funds readily available to buy brand new skates. Instead of a contest entry fee, competitors donated used skates, wheels or frames. Then, during the contest, the nice staff of Rec N Roll Skateshop helped match up the pieces and assembled skates for those in need. It was great seeing so many kids excited about picking out their own parts and trying on their new skates. A few brave kids even tried rolling the skatepark for their first time – it was a beautiful sight! ... Read More...

BuddyTour 2010

What follows is excerpts from a 30 page essay I wrote about Ian's and my mini-tour in December 2010. I've excluded some important, memorable events for brevity's sake involving Toy Story 3, a penis-obsessed Olympic athlete, Mike Lilly, and somebody pepper-spraying a sandwich. It is partly about rollerblading, but mostly a journal I kept while I was traveling. There are a few manipulations of time, but nothing drastic. Some paragraphs were literally copied and pasted out of context so it's not the most cohesive, fluent writing style. Deal with it. ... Read More...

Footwork: new online release by Kristian Payne

"Footwork" is an online video that has been in the making for a few months now. Texas has tons of unseen talent along with a lot of big names. I decided to get a good mix of bladers with very different styles that would be able to come out and film enough for a section. With so many Texas videos coming out such as "swag", "the city never sleeps", "lst", and "Au" it was hard to get skaters committed for this video but I couldn't be happier the turnout and devotion from these bladers. ...
