Richie Eisler & Dustin Werbeski: One Minute One Spot

Richie Eisler and Dustin Werbeski at Rochdale skatepark in Regina, Canada. August 10, 2010.

Dustin and I were both asked to do “One spot/One minute” for Be-Mag and decided that we would combine our efforts into one. My camera broke down, leaving us with no other option than to film with a Hero GoPro camera. This camera is pretty handy, but also pretty difficult to shoot with. There is no viewfinder and it is tricky to get steady images from such a small device. I think it worked well though. And hopefully it was worth the wait. We were asked to do this project months ago, but weren’t able to get it done until just recently (hence, the music choices). Overall, I am pretty happy with this edit. We both approached our boring old park with a fresh new perspective and had a lot of fun in the process. There is nothing better than a summer evening session with your friends. After living in different parts of the world for the last few years, it has been nice to reunite and shred our hometown again. We are heading to Spain next, so this will certainly not be the last of our projects together.” – Richie Eisler

Three characteristics that describe you best: Positive, energetic, open-minded.

Good advice you’ve been given: Haha I don’t know who or how this advice came to me but I definitely tend to follow it: Don’t settle, do what you want, it’s your life and it only happens once.

Current set-up: USD Carbon IIs. Sex on my feet. Ceramic bearings and Undercover wheels for a little nitro boost.

Plans for this year: Moving to Barcelona and living the dream, part II.

Things you do when you’re not blading: Eat, sleep, think, travel, listen to tunes, work strange and varied jobs, make friends, create memories, try to learn an excessive amount, get kicked out of countries.

Reasons to smile: To bring yourself and those around you up.

Inspirations: All forms of art, travel, interesting people, the people around me, my family, myself.

Why do you rollerblade: It’s a lot of fun and makes me really happy.

Three characteristics that describe you best: Eccentric, open-minded, and personable.

Good advice you’ve been given: Don’t care about what other people think. Acknowledge others thoughts and opinions, but stick to your own and be you.

Current set-up: Blacked out Xsjados with Mook frames.

Plans for this year: I am in the process of establishing my fine art photography career, so that’s my number one. To assist that and allow for even bigger and better plans, I am also moving to Spain with Mr. Eisler.

Things you do when you’re not blading: I don’t have a “job” at the moment, but I am always working on my photography in one form or another, while enjoying a lot of good times with friends and family.

Reasons to smile: It feels good. The reasons really are endless & everywhere, just look around with the right perspective and its almost impossible not too.

Inspirations: I find inspiration in almost everything. Bands like Explosions in the sky, artists like Andy Warhol, directors like Wes Anderson, all aside from the million other daily inspirations. Which can come from anything like a strangers wardrobe, a lunch menus design, a conversation with a friend, etc…

Why do you rollerblade: Because I can, and it’s all too good for my body and mind.
